Man is charged with manslaughter

A 21-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter following the death of a construction worker in Bristol.

Simon Bampton, 28, from Southampton, died in hospital after being injured during an altercation with a car driver in Marsh Street on 19 August.

A man from Birmingham is due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court on Friday.

Two other men, aged 22 and 25, who were also arrested in connection with the incident, have been released without charge.
