No verdict in car clamper's trial

A jury in the trial of a car clamper accused of driving dangerously down a street with an angry motorist on his bonnet has failed to reach a verdict.

Shannon Sellick, 25, from Bridgwater, had been on trial at Bristol Crown Court charged with dangerous driving.

He and a colleague were alleged to have been involved in a confrontation with the owner of a car parked on private land in Clifton, Bristol last November.

The Crown Prosecution Service must now decide if there is to be a retrial.

On Wednesday clamper Peter May, 36, of Hamp Brook Way, Bridgwater was cleared of aiding and abetting dangerous driving, on the orders of the judge.
