Man dies following A46 collision

A man who was airlifted to hospital after his car collided with another on the A46 near Bath has died.

David John Bentley, 53, of Bath, was taken to Frenchay Hospital with critical injuries but died the following day, it has emerged.

The collision happened on 15 July just after 2100 BST at Nimlet.

The road was closed while members of the specialist collision investigation team examined the scene. Police have made an appeal for witnesses.
