Residents home after factory fire

Up to 50 people who had to leave their homes after a fire broke out on an industrial estate in Somerset, have been allowed to return.

Crews were called to the Opus factory in Cox's Green, Wrington, when the fire began at about 1525 BST on Wednesday.

Roads around the estate were closed while firefighters tackled the blaze, amid concerns about chemical hazards.

Dozens of residents were taken to a nearby rest centre and those in nearby villages were advised to stay indoors.

Motorists were also advised to avoid the area.

Residents were allowed to return home just after midnight on Wednesday.

On Thursday morning, a police cordon remained around the site while fire crews continued to make the area safe.
