Concorde fall man inquest opens

The Concorde walkway
Mr Livall was one of the first people to mount the new walkway

An elderly man who visited Bristol's Concorde museum died after organisers rushed to get the plane on display to the paying public, an inquest heard.

Horace Livall, a retired milkman from Southmead, was one of the first to mount the new walkway at the Filton museum in September 2004.

The 71-year-old died after falling 15ft (5m) from the aircraft doorway.

The inquest heard there was confusion over health and safety and that no risk assessment had been signed off.

The inquest at Kingsweston House continues.
