Flat fire 'covered up evidence'

A teenager was hit over the head by her crack addict lover before her flat was set on fire to cover up the evidence, prosecutors have told a murder trial.

Kylee Dibble's remains were found in her Barton Hill flat in Bristol after a fire in February 2005.

A post-mortem examination revealed that the 18-year-old had died from multiple head injuries.

Nicky Robinson, 23, of St Philips, denies murder. The trial, at Bristol Crown Court, could last three weeks.

The crack addict is alleged to have killed Ms Dibble after having sex with her, and then fleeing the flat to score drugs, the court heard.

Mr Robinson, nicknamed "Nixon", was a drug addict whose temper would worsen when he was after "a score", said Crown prosecutor Richard Smith QC.

The unemployed man was often "taking and searching" for drugs and spent most of his time in "crack houses".

Robinson was living with his cousin in the same council-owned tower block in Barton Hill as Ms Dibble.

The two met and struck up a casual sexual relationship.

The trial continues.
