Cash grant for city play spaces

A cash grant of £2.5m will be used to improve play parks in Bristol.

The money, from the government's Play Pathfinder scheme, will be used to create a total of 28 new or enhanced play areas.

These include a new adventure play park and "public space" in St Pauls, and improvement to facilities at Blaise Castle, Hengrove and Oldbury Court.

Council leader, Helen Holland, said: "This is fantastic news for everyone in the city."

"I'm delighted that we now have the opportunity to make a real difference by targeting additional investment from the government in our parks and play areas to give children the very best facilities," she added.
