Man unconscious after flat fire

A man is in a serious condition in hospital after a fire in Bristol.

Fire crews were called to a first floor flat at Turner Gardens, Lockleaze, in the early hours of Tuesday.

Officers using breathing apparatus found a man in his 40s unconscious inside the flat. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

A full investigation is now under way into the cause of the blaze, which is thought to have broken out in the lounge area.
