Blue plaque will honour scientist
A blue plaque honouring the life and work of a leading scientist and philosopher is to be unveiled at his former home in Bristol.

Born in May 1925, professor John Michael Ziman was a campaigner on the social responsibility of scientists.

In 1964, he was appointed Professor of Theoretical Physics at Bristol University. He died in January 2005.

The blue plaque tribute will be unveiled at 20 Eastfield, Westbury-on-Trym next Monday.

The ceremony will be attended by university representatives, councillors, relatives of professor Ziman and the current residents of the house.
