Man is killed in lorry accident
A pedestrian in his 80s died when he was hit by a lorry in Bristol.

Emergency services were called to the A37, Wells Road, at its junction with Maggs Lane, after reports of the accident on Friday lunchtime.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said inquiries were now under way to establish the man's identity.

The busy Wells Road was closed for several hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene. Police are appealing for witnesses.

The road re-opened just after 1700 GMT.
