Fire crews rescue woman from flat
A woman has been rescued from her smoke-logged flat in Bristol.

Emergency services were called to Upper Byron Place, Clifton, in the early hours, after an alarm went off in the four storey block of flats.

When firefighters arrived all other occupants had left the building, apart from on the ground floor where the alarm was triggered.

Crews used a sledgehammer to break-in and found the woman asleep, and a smoking pan on the kitchen stove.

She was led to safety unharmed.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said all other occupants of the flats were unharmed.
