Plan to boost primary provision
An oversubscribed primary school in Bristol could be expanded if plans are approved by the city council.

Sefton Park Infant and Junior Schools would be redeveloped on their current site at a cost of about £6.7m, providing 210 new places.

Plans to relocate the junior school to the Brunel College site have been dropped.

The scheme is being recommended to councillors, who meet to discuss it on 10 January.

Councillor Derek Pickup said: "We have held talks with the heads and governing bodies and they are very supportive of these proposals, which will meet their concerns about problems on the site and offer continuity to their staff and to parents and pupils.

"We want to keep our options open for the Brunel site in case a new primary school is still needed in the years to come, due to further population increases in the area."
