Restoration plans for listed lido
Clifton Lido in Bristol
Clifton Lido was closed in 1990
The owners of a derelict lido which closed in 1990 have been given planning permission to restore it.

The Victorian Clifton Lido was almost demolished to make way for flats four years ago.

Now its owners, the Glass Boat Company, have been given planning permission to restore it to its former glory.

The lido, which was designed by Bristol architect Richard Shackleton-Pope in 1850 and is Grade II-listed, has seen many campaigns to preserve it.
