Jail term extended before trial

A man accused of killing his son when they fell from a hotel balcony in Crete will spend six more months in a Greek jail before his trial begins.

John Hogan, 32, from Bradley Stoke, is accused of murdering his son Liam, six, during the 50ft fall in August 2006.

His two-year-old daughter survived the fall. Mr Hogan is also charged with attempted murder and attempted suicide.

He is receiving treatment in a psychiatric ward and is understood to be unfit to stand trial.
