Award for social conscience water
A businesswoman from Bristol has been named young entrepreneur of the year.

Katie Alcott, 28, sells bottled spring water in the UK, and uses the proceeds to provide clean, safe water for villages in India and Africa.

After travelling the world and experiencing sickness caused by dirty water, she set up Frank Water in 2005.

Ms Alcott said: "Our aim is to be candid and outspoken about global water problems in order to raise awareness and help fund solutions."

"FRANK is a small, grass roots social enterprise and the support from national magazines is very much appreciated," she added.

"It was incredibly inspiring to meet so many other inspiring female entrepreneurs throughout the awards process and at the awards ceremony, with so much passion and commitment, they prove anything is possible if you really believe in what you do, have the commitment and strong support networks.

"Being a South West business we have a strong local support base which now we feel confident can be taken nationwide."

Every litre of Frank Spring Water bought in the UK provides more than 200 litres of safe drinking water for villagers at the Frank projects in developing countries.
