Pensioner rescued from house fire
An elderly man is in hospital after being rescued from his burning home in Bristol.

The fire broke out in the kitchen of the house on Pine Road, Brentry, at about 0500 BST.

A 64-year-old woman told fire crews her 74-year-old partner was still inside. He was found, semi-conscious, in a bedroom upstairs.

He was taken to Frenchay hospital for treatment. The kitchen was destroyed and the house badly smoke-damaged.
