Bristol's Colston House is due to be demolished shortly.

Much of the interior of the Art Deco building has already been dismantled and the former city council building is being taken down from top to bottom.

A pincer machine will grab parts of the building and attempt to bring them down with a minimum of noise.

The work is expected to take between two to three weeks. A Willmott Dixon spokesman said material from the building would be recycled.

The scheme is part of an on-going £20m project to transform the Colston Hall and its immediate surroundings.

After Colston House has been demolished a new foyer building for the Colston Hall will be built.
