A farmers' market has been invited to set up on campus by the University of the West of England (UWE) in a bid to get students to eat healthily.
Farmers will sell local produce on the Frenchay site on 25 April.
The market is the culmination of work between UWE and the Soil Association to promote healthy eating among students.
"A key part of this is encouraging students to dump ready meals in favour of freshly prepared food," said Sue Burton of UWE.
"We also want to support the farmers' market ethos of buoying up the local economy by buying locally and encouraging suppliers who are transparent about the origins of their ingredients," she said.
The market is envisaged as a monthly event and neighbouring businesses will also be invited.
Many Farmers Markets tend to be held during the working week so it can be difficult for students and staff to get to them," said Sue Burton of UWE.
