Body thought to be diabetic man
Sophie Smart
"My dad is the most wonderful man you could meet"
A body believed to be that of a diabetic Bristol man who went missing in late March, has been found in a van in Somerset.

Jeremy Smart, 46, a father-of-two was last seen after leaving his Headley Park home on Sunday, 25 March to go to football practice.

At the time, the family said Mr Smart may have left because he felt his diabetes was a burden to them.

Police were called by a member of the public who spotted the van.

It was owned by Mr Smart and found at Sedgemoor Services.

Officers attended at 0300 BST on 17 April and found a man in the front of the van. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The van has been taken away from the services and the identity of the dead man has yet to be confirmed.

At this stage police are not treating the death as suspicious.

It is not known how long the van was in the car park for, but police are keen to speak to anyone who knows when the van arrived.

Mr Smart's family have been informed.
