Police recapture prison absconder

Butler was convicted of seriously assaulting a police officer
A convict who absconded from Leyhill Prison near Bristol at the weekend has been recaptured in Sussex.

Police said Joseph Butler, 29, was arrested in Chichester on Monday night and returned to prison authorities.

Butler, who was serving 10 years for seriously assaulting a police officer, was the second inmate to go missing from the open prison in a week.

Convicted murderer Stanley Dunn was recaptured last Friday after absconding while on a work placement.
