Holidaymakers 'waiting for hours'
Stranded passengers
Easyjet passengers are being bussed to other airports
Passengers stranded at Bristol Airport have had to hastily re-arrange their travel plans.

Describing the situation as "chaos" and "shocking", Easyjet passengers queued in the rain as they waited for coaches to take them to other airports.

Passengers complained they had been given little information about what was going on.

Jessica Palmer, 24, and her boyfriend Mark Stanmore, 29, both from Haverfordwest in Pembrokeshire, had intended to fly to Barcelona for Mr Stanmore's 30th birthday.

Corporate services manager Miss Palmer said: "We've been waiting here for hours.

"We were told that our flight had been cancelled and we will now be getting a coach across to Luton Airport to catch a flight from there.

"What is really annoying is that we are being told very little. People are getting information from the radio and from friends ringing them on their mobiles."

'Safety concerns'

Easyjet is advising passengers to check its website or call 08712 442366 for updates.

Mr Stanmore, a painter and decorator, said: "I understand that safety has to be the first concern, but the other plane companies are flying in and out of Bristol without any problems.

"It's only a little bit of drizzle - it does seem a bit pathetic to me."

Pub chef Brett Haywood, 26, from Yate, near Bristol, was part of a 32-strong group that were hoping to fly to Glasgow this morning to take part in a murder-mystery weekend in the city.

Mr Haywood said: "We just don't know what's going to happen with our flight. It's still raining here so it looks like the plane won't be able to take off.

"It will be a real shame if we don't get up there tonight as this was supposed to be a big works night out and everyone's been looking forward to it for ages."
