Police support worker is attacked
A police community support officer required hospital treatment after being slashed with a broken bottle in the face by a man in an unprovoked attack.

The 19-year-old woman was patrolling in the Victoria Park area of Bristol on Tuesday afternoon when it happened.

She was approached by the man who grabbed her by the arm before smashing the bottle into her face.

The wound was subsequently stitched in hospital. Police said a man had been arrested and was aiding inquiries.
