Bishop's wife to undergo surgery
Bishop Mike and Anthea
Bishop Mike suffered a broken shoulder in the crash
The Bishop of Bristol's wife has suffered a set-back in her recovery after a serious car crash in October.

According to the Bishop's blog, Anthea Hill, 61, will undergo "spinal fusion surgery" later.

This means taking a piece of bone from her hip and fusing it with the damaged vertebrae in her neck.

Bishop Mike said: "This surgery carries some risk and Anthea and the family were clear that they wished to share this news for your prayers."

Mrs Hill fractured her neck when the car she was travelling in with Bishop Mike span off the M4, hit a tree and rolled on to its roof.

Bishop Mike, 57, sustained a broken shoulder in the accident.

An internet blog has been set up to keep parishioners informed of their progress.
