Final day for Industrial Museum
Bristol Industrial Museum
The new museum should be open by 2009
Bristol's Industrial Museum closed its doors on Sunday after 28 years.

It is to make way for a new 18.6m Museum of Bristol showcasing the city's history and heritage, due to open in the summer of 2009.

Exhibition space will be doubled and thousands of exhibits which are currently out of sight will be catalogued and put on display.

Bristol City Council has been awarded 853,000 as phase one of plans for the museum by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
