Attempt to list chocolate factory
Residents pack a meeting to discuss plans for the former chocolate factory
Residents say the plans lack space for local employment
Campaigners fighting plans to bulldoze the former Elizabeth Shaw chocolate factory in Bristol are hoping to have it listed to preserve the building.

More than 80 concerned residents gathered in St Anne's church Greenbank to oppose plans to use the site to build 108 houses and flats.

The group - the Greenbank Chocolate Box - is concerned the plans mean the loss of valuable local employment space.

The group says the developer's proposal keeps 5% of the space for employment.

The group also expressed concern about pressure on transport and local amenities if the plans are approved.

Ward councillor John Kiely has written a letter of objection to the plans, in which he highlights an alleged lack of provision for the disabled and elderly in the designs.
