Police officers swot up on Somali
Police in Bristol are sending some of their officers on a language course to forge better links local Somali people.

The city's Somali population is growing as families flee the African country to escape civil war and famine.

Sgt Lorna Dallimore is one of several officers from Trinity Road police station who are embarking on a 10-week language course.

"Certainly having understanding of the culture will help us to communicate better all round," she said.
