Warning as kerb crawlers robbed
Four kerb crawlers were robbed in separate incidents over the Bank Holiday weekend in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police said the men had driven to locations in the city with prostitutes they had picked up.

On each occasion, several men were waiting who then forced their victims to drive to cashpoints and withdraw as much cash as possible.

Inspector Andy Bennett said: "Kerb crawling is dangerous. It is illegal and could lead to you being arrested."

He added: "You may be named and shamed in the media or even have your car confiscated and crushed.

"As well as the known links between prostitution and drugs which brings with it problems of robbery, we are also seeing an increase in incidents where the kerb crawler is being taken to a specific location, even a house, by a prostitute where people are waiting to rob him."
