Parents urged to use eco nappies

Modern washable nappies can be self-fastening
Parents in Bristol are being urged to change nappies to help the environment - by ditching their disposables for the reusable cloth version.

The drive is part of Real Nappy Week, a bid to increase recycling and cut down on the amount of waste being dumped in landfill sites across the region.

A nappy mountain will be built in the city on Monday to promote the campaign.

Organisers aim to show that using a cloth nappy is better for the baby, for their finances, and the environment.

A spokesman said: "Most people who have young children still use disposable nappies, but these are a one-use item and there is currently no way of recycling them in the UK.

"Real Nappy Week is all about dispelling the myths about modern re-usable nappies."
