Thousands of people took to the streets of Bristol on Saturday for the city's annual St Pauls Carnival.
The rain held off on Saturday as many people paraded through the city for the start of the festivities.
Children from 12 schools from the area dressed in specially-made costumes for the procession.
The event, now in its 38th year, but scaled down from previous years, featured music and dancing, with a host of international bands.
Inspector Julie Bowle of Avon and Somerset Police said: "It's fantastic there's a very happy carnival atmosphere.
"Everybody seems to be enjoying themselves. Certainly I'm being asked all the time what time does the childrens' procession start. Everybody is looking forward to it and I must admit, so am I."
