The man argued that women only sessions were sexist
North Somerset Council has ended its women-only swimming sessions after a man complained they were sexist.

The man objected to being unable to take part in the popular sessions at the pool in Portishead.

As a result, North Somerset Council has been forced to cancel the sessions at four of its pools.

DC Leisure, which runs the council's pools, has now changed the sessions to adults-only, allowing both men and women to attend.

Nick Moran of DC Leisure said: "We have been advised that women-only sessions are clearly discriminatory if we are not holding male-only sessions, which we don't as there is not the demand."
