New health facility for suburb
Plans for a new GP surgery and village green in Westbury-on-Trym have been approved by Bristol City Council.

Planning consent has been granted for a health centre to replace the current surgery in Falcondale Road on disused former allotment land.

The scheme will also create a new public open space.

Dr Phil McCarthy of the practice said: "We have no room for expansion, so we want to build a new surgery to allow us to provide more accessible services."

Dr McCarthy added: "We want to enhance the centre of Westbury-on-Trym village as well as improve local medical services."
