A team of investigators has visited the warehouse in Bristol where a fire destroyed hundreds of props from the Wallace and Gromit films.

Due to concerns over the building's safety, it is the first time that fire officers have been able to access the site since the blaze on 10 October.

An inquiry into the cause of the fire at Aardman Animations is under way.

Aardman has said that some props from its newly-released movie, The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, were spared.

Aardman had just been celebrating The Curse of the Were-Rabbit topping the US box office when the fire began.

The film's two main sets, along with several smaller ones and many of the characters, are currently being exhibited elsewhere at a city visitor attraction.

However, articles relating to the characters Morph and Lurpak man perished in the fire; as well as storyboards, sets and news articles from the films Chicken Run and Creature Comforts.

The warehouse contained a collection built up over 30 years and included props, models, scenery and awards.
