Police are searching for four men after a bungled armed raid on a casino in Bristol on Thursday evening.
The robbers fled after a fire alarm was set off
Eyewitnesses say one of the men who carried out the attempted robbery at Gala Casino was armed with a shotgun, and the other two had pistols.
They ran off along Redcliffe Way when an alarm was activated in the building at 9.30pm. A driver also escaped.
One worker told the BBC that the men "scared the life" out of staff and gamblers at the casino.
The casino was closed after the attempted raid for a police forensic examination.
Managers planned to reopen the centre at 2pm on Friday.
A spokeswoman for Gala Casino said: "We are just delighted that no staff or customers were hurt."
She added that CCTV footage of the attempted raid had been handed to the police.
Investigating officers are appealing for anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously earlier in the evening in the Avonmeads area, or for witnesses at the casino to get in touch.
