A woman has been found not guilty of trying to help her husband die.
Gemma Johnson, 21, was accused of feeding James Edwards, 38, paracetamol tablets and making him a hanging noose because she wanted his money.
Mr Edwards, from Bristol, who has spina bifida, tried to take a fatal overdose, Bristol Crown Court had heard.
Ms Johnson denied aiding and abetting the suicide attempt in December 2003 and was found not guilty by a jury at the court on Tuesday.
It was alleged that Ms Johnson had forced Mr Edwards to make a will a month before he attempted suicide.
The couple, who had married in February 2003,
split up in August when their relationship became violent.
According to the will, she would inherit £80,000 cash, Edwards's home in Bradley Stoke, Bristol.
which was worth £300,000, and his two life insurance policies worth up to £400,000 in
total.
Mr Edwards, who directed films and appeared with Ms Johnson, told the jury he had wanted to die because he still loved her and wanted to make her happy.
Ms Johnson declined to comment as she left the court with friends.
