Motorway widening brings delays
Queuing traffic on motorway
Delays are expected on the M5 near Clevedon
More delays are expected for holiday- makers heading south this summer, with a £400,000 project to widen the M5 near Clevedon, beginning on Monday.

Over the next six weeks the Highways Agency plans to build an extra two lanes - one from junction 20 into Clevedon and one out onto the motorway.

It is hoped this will double road space, reduce queues and journey times and improve safety.

In the past, traffic coming off at Clevedon has had to queue onto the M5.

The junction will remain open throughout the work.

However, the lanes will be narrower and motorists are being advised to give themselves longer for journeys during July and August.
