Jekka McVicar
Jekka McVicar's cat sneaked into the back of the lorry at the farm
A stowaway cat owned by award-winning organic herb grower Jekka McVicar travelled from her farm near Bristol to the Chelsea Flower Show.

The expert's husband heard miaows as he was unloading items for her exhibit, and Borridge the cat was found.

"He had gone to sleep on some grass in the back of the lorry," said Ms McVicar who has won gold medals at Chelsea in eight previous years.

"They caught him and he went back home in the cab of the vehicle," she said.

Jekka McVicar, whose herb farm is at Alveston, Thornbury, near Bristol, has published several books and broadcast a series of programmes about herbs on BBC Radio 4.

She has appeared on the BBC television programmes Gardeners' World and Tracks, and on Bloom on Channel 4.

As well as having her own exhibit at Chelsea, she has this year supplied thousands of herb plants - including catmint - for one of the main show gardens, The 4head Garden.
