Farm show back after five years
Tyntesfield, near Bristol
The mansion opened its doors to the public last month
An agricultural show returned to the farming events calendar for the first time in five years on Monday.

North Somerset Show has not been held since 1999 due to a combination of foot-and-mouth disease and poor weather conditions.

The 145th show is the first to be held at a new location - the Bathing Pond Fields at Tyntesfield, Wraxall.

The land was bought two years ago by the North Somerset Agricultural Society, specifically as a show field.

Hundreds expected

It lies in the grounds of Tyntesfield house bought by the National Trust after the death of its owner, Lord Wraxall, in 2002.

"The show is a wonderful opportunity to share our new and very picturesque site with everyone who lives locally," said show secretary Katie Hutchings.

The one-day countryside and agricultural show covers all aspects of local and national agricultural life.

Hundreds of people were expected to attend.
