A blue plaque honouring the life of a leading suffragette is to be unveiled on International Women's Day.
Lady Emmeline Pethick-Lawrence was born in Charlotte Street, Bristol, in 1867.
A member of the Women's Social and Political Union, she was arrested and imprisoned for trying to make a speech in the lobby of the House of Commons.
Bristol MP Valerie Davey and Margaret Gray of the Bristol's Women's Forum will unveil the plaque - on the wall of her former home at 0930 GMT on 8 March.
Councillor Christopher Orlik said: "Unveiling a blue plaque to Emmeline Pethick on International Women's Day is a fitting tribute to her and life and work.
"Her commitment to world peace and to improving the lives of women is an example to us all."
Other blue plaques in Bristol include those commemorating actor Sir Michael Redgrave, and Nipper the dog, the HMV mascot.
