Man arrested after fatal accident

A man has been arrested after another man was killed in a possible hit-and-run accident in the Brislington area of Bristol.

People living in School Road heard a loud bang shortly after midnight. When officers arrived they found a man dead in the road.

Police say the still to be identified dead man - thought to be a pedestrian - may have been hit by a lorry.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Witnesses are being sought and the road will remain closed to vehicles.
