Three charged after man stabbed near Huddersfield pub

Two men and a youth have been charged over a stabbing in Huddersfield.

A man was taken to hospital after the incident near the Head of Steam pub on St George's Square on Friday.

Two men aged 30 and 22 and a boy, 16, appeared before town magistrates charged with serious assault and public order offences.

Two other men, including Notts County footballer Delroy Facey, were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released on bail.

West Yorkshire Police said the two men, age 22 and 29, had been released, pending further inquiries, in relation to assisting an offender.

The man is in a stable condition in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.

A spokesman for Notts County Football Club said it was aware of the "arrest and subsequent release on unconditional bail of one of our players".

The spokesman added: "However, until all of the facts of this incident are known, the club are not prepared to make any further comment on this matter."
