Woman charged with benefit fraud

A 26-year-old woman has appeared in court accused of benefit fraud of more than £43,000.

Amanda Hyett appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court charged with seven counts of benefit fraud.

Ms Hyett, of Moorside Road, Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, is accused of failing to declare she was living with her husband when claiming benefits.

She made no plea during the brief hearing. The case was adjourned until 9 September.
