Yorkshire Forward under scrutiny

A committee of MPs are to examine the effectiveness of regional development agency Yorkshire Forward.

The accountability of the agency, which is responsible for spending millions in public money, will be discussed at the committee's first meeting on Monday.

Labour MP Eric Illsley, who is chairing the committee, said: "I expect that we'll hear varying descriptions of the work of Yorkshire Forward."

The hearing at Leeds Civic Hall is also open to members of the public.
