City's eight new swine flu cases

Eight more people in Sheffield have been confirmed by health officials as having the swine flu virus.

NHS Sheffield said the patients were being treated with anti-viral drugs and were responding well.

Those who have been in close contact with the patients have also been given anti-viral drugs.

Paul Redgrave, Deputy Director of Health for Sheffield, said there were now about 60 cases of swine flu in the city, with numbers expected to rise.
