A teenager has been arrested in Dover over a "violent" road rage attack on an elderly couple in Bradford.

Christopher Bell, 65, and his wife Beryl, 66, were beaten by four men after they clipped the wing mirror of a car on Pollard Lane on 9 June.

Mrs Bell was punched in the face after she tried to help her husband.

West Yorkshire Police said a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in Dover and was being brought back to Bradford for questioning.

Speaking about the incident last week, Mrs Bell said: "I was scared but I just saw them all hitting him so I got out and tried to stop it but I just got knocked unconscious."

Police appealed for witnesses to the attack, which they described as "particularly violent".

A 21-year-old man was arrested last week on suspicion of assault and later released on police bail.
