Man remanded over terror charges

A man has been remanded in custody accused of possessing weapons and having or collecting information which could be useful to a terrorist.

Terence Robert Gavan, of Colbeck Terrace, Batley, West Yorkshire, is also charged with five offences of possessing prohibited weapons.

Mr Gavan, 38, who was arrested in Batley in May, appeared at the Old Bailey by videolink.

He was held in custody for a plea and case management hearing on 2 October.
