The father of two died in the explosion at Andrew Jones Pies

The funeral has taken place of a man who died in an explosion at a pie factory in Huddersfield.

David Cole, 37 and from Salterhebble, Halifax, died when the blast at Andrew Jones Pies brought down part of the roof and started a fire.

Six other people were injured in the blast, which happened on Good Friday.

The funeral service was held at St Malachy's in Ovendon, Halifax on Wednesday morning, followed by a burial at Stoney Royd Cemetery.

Sales manager Graham Easby said all of Mr Cole's colleagues at the factory had been invited to attend.

He said: "I would imagine there's going to be a fair bit of emotion, it is going to be a bit raw and emotional for his colleagues . . .and even more emotional for his family.

"We have this chap who went to work and didn't come home."
