Cinema revamp plans go on display

Bradford Odeon
The Odeon cinema closed its doors in 2000

Plans for a £55m development on the site of Bradford's historic Odeon cinema are being put on public display.

The Bradford Odeon Rescue Group (Borg) have been fighting to save the building which they say is an iconic landmark.

Bradford Council said restoring the Princes Way site would be too costly. A new development, with offices and apartments, is planned for the site.

A public exhibition showcasing plans is being held at the Great Victoria Hotel until 4 October.

The building closed its doors seven years ago when a new Odeon cinema opened in the city.
