Lorry fire blocks busy motorway

A section of one of the busiest motorways in England was closed after a lorry carrying chipboard caught fire during Tuesday's rush hour.

Commuters and goods vehicles found their route on the M62 at Rishworth Moor on the Pennines blocked as emergency services dealt with the fire.

The eastbound carriageway was backed up with traffic across the county border into Lancashire.

Goods vehicles were being directed off the motorway at junction 21.
