Man killed in nightclub shooting

A man has been shot dead outside a nightclub in Bradford.

West Yorkshire Police said the man was found lying face down outside the club on Westgate at about 0330 BST.

The man, who has not been identified but who is aged about 30, was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives said a murder inquiry had begun and appealed for witnesses to come forward. A post-mortem examination is being arranged.

Det Supt Paul Taylor said: "We are continuing to examine the scene today and are conducting inquiries.

"I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen something to contact police as soon as possible.

"Their information could be crucial and will be treated in the strictest confidence."
