A 55-year-old man has appeared in court accused of rape and attempted murder after two sex attacks which happened nine years apart in West Yorkshire.
David Newton, of Knottingley, appeared at Bradford Crown Court charged with the abduction, indecent assault and rape of a girl, 16, in Leeds in 1997.
He is also accused of the kidnap and false imprisonment of an 11-year-old boy in the same incident at Halton.
Mr Newton is accused of the attempted murder and rape of a woman in 2006.
The second incident is alleged to have taken place on Ilkley Moor.
Mr Newton was arrested in the Hayle area of Cornwall on Tuesday.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 15 July.
